Ask me what my go-to arm accessory is, and I'll say, "watches". I must admit I'm guilty of wearing watches for looks instead of for the purpose of telling time (that's what cellphones are for right?), but how could you turn down an accessory that's both practical and stylish? They're so versatile and go with nearly anything. The classy faces of the gold and silver ones add an air of elegance and sophistication to any outfit, and the casual leather band watches give that punch of cool to a toned down look.
Too bad watches can be pretty pricey. Thankfully, I have family members who don't mind letting me borrow a few of their accessories. But when this isn't an option, I've learned that shopping for watches doesn't have to break the bank. Stores such as JCPenney, TJMaxx, Overstock, Sam's Club, Costco, and thrift/vintage/consignment shops often have awesome deals on watches!
In my opinion, you'll get the most unique and best deal for what you purchase in a vintage or consignment shop because their pieces are typically one-of-a-kind, and their prices are usually negotiable. Plus it's always more fun to come across an accessory you really like when you have to go on a fashion hunt for it. On another note, old school style is trendy now, so you could even ask someone in your family if they would let you have or borrow some of their arm candy from way back when. You'd be surprised that your most gorgeous finds may be discovered where you would least expect them!
If you haven't been into watches before, hopefully you're interested now! And don't worry, all these watches aren't mine, but someday I do hope to have a nice watch collection. Let me know your favorite watch brand or your greatest watch find in the comments section below!
